textrecon project
advanced text fingerprinting
The textrecon project is doing some research in the field of text fingerprinting and profiling. The goal is the highly accurate identification of given texts. This might be required if there shall be identified two different authors claiming they wrote the same text (e.g. stolen content in a term paper or faked multiple posts in a web board).

Besides the discussion of different approaches and the documentation of gathered results also an implementation for automated analysis is provided. This software shall improve the easyness and efficiency of this kind of enumeration.

Similar work, which have had some influence in the textrecon project, was done by Dr. Daniel Krawetz. His presentation with the title "You are what you type - Non-Classical Computer Forensics" was held on the BlackHat USA in 2006. His development in author analysis and gender gessing was adapted and improved.
